Photocatalyst is a technology that responds to light and breaks down stains and odors.
V-CAT, in particular, responds not only to sunlight but also fluorescent light exhibiting high photocatalytic action.

Material coated with V-CAT responds to sunlight, fluorescent and other light to breakdown stains and odors, as well as exhibits high antibacterial function against viruses and bacteria.
This material processing is recommended for worksites where a clean environment is required, environments such as food manufacturers, supermarket, eat-out establishments, hospitals, nursing care facilities and drug stores, and at worksites where many people gather, such as schools, public facilities and factories.

Features of the V-CAT --Function of titanium oxide photocatalyst--

When the nitrogen-doped titanium oxide (Ti-O-N) V-CAT developed by Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. is exposed to light, active oxygen that has a strong decomposing function is produced to break down organic substances.
This function has the effect of de-staining and deodorizing. It also has an anti-bacterial effect on viruses and bacteria.

It exhibits an anti-influenza virus effect.

The same subtype virus as Spanish flu in September 2009 to January 2010 and the same subtype virus as influenza A virus H3N2 were used in an experiment to measure plaque-forming units (measuring cells infected by virus that died).
The result found that material coated with V-CAT weakened virus infectivity to 0~5%.

It exhibits antibacterial action.

It exhibits high antibacterial action against staphylococcus aureus, colon bacillus and other bacteria, and contributes to the creation of a clean and healthy environment.

High durability is maintained after washing.

The effect is maintained after repeated dry cleaning or washing at home.
